Cronje & Yiannas Actuaries and Consultants Ltd, on behalf of a client, a leading global accounting and consulting firm, is seeking to recruit a capable Head of Tax to join their professional Tax Advisory team in Nicosia.
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing key local and international client relationships
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior management and stakeholders
- Providing strategic, commercially focused advice on complex Cyprus and international tax matters, including restructurings, transactions, investments and cross-border planning
- Managing significant tax advisory engagements and driving business development, including originating opportunities, leading pitches and converting prospects, while managing portfolio profitability
- Leading, managing and developing the Tax team, with responsibility for performance, coaching, succession and retention
- Providing technical leadership on complex tax matters and significant disputes with the Cyprus Tax Department, ensuring the highest standards of quality and risk management
- Working with the Partners on the strategic growth of the Tax practice, including market opportunities, service development and resource planning
- Collaborating across Audit, Deals, Accounting and international network firms to deliver multidisciplinary and cross-border opportunities
- Maintaining strong knowledge of Cyprus, EU and international tax developments and their implications for clients
- Representing the firm in client events, professional forums and industry initiatives
Requirements
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; a master's degree will be considered an advantage
- A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent
- Significant senior-level experience in tax, preferably gained within a professional services firm
- Extensive knowledge of Cyprus taxation, with strong experience in corporate and/or international tax
- Proven experience managing senior client relationships, developing new business and engaging confidently with senior executives, shareholders and other key decision-makers
- Demonstrable experience leading, managing and developing professional teams
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the professional services environment
- Excellent leadership, negotiation and relationship-management skills
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Greek
